Learn All About the Charles Barkley Rookie Card

Charles Barkley is one of the most dominating basketball player of all time. He was known for his offensive prowess as well as his rebounding ability. 

His rookie and early cards are very sought after and valuable. Let's take a look at some of these vintage Charles Barkley trading cards.

1986-87 Fleer

Card #7

This card is the most recognizable Charles Barkley Card. It is considered a Charles Barkley rookie.

There are earlier Barkley cards, but the 1986-87 Fleer card is widely regarded as a Charles Barkley rookie.  It is very valuable in high-grade condition.

1984-85 Star

Card #202

The 1984-85 Star is Charles Barkley's first pro card. Beware of counterfeits.  It is considered a rookie card.

The 1984-85 Star set was not produced in large numbers. It was only available from dealers as part of 79ers team sets.

1984-85 Star Court Kings

card #41

This is an oversized first-year Charles Barkley card. It measures 5" x 7". It is also considered an oddball rookie card.

This Charles Barkley card is part of a 50-card set of star players. It's more rare than the 1984-85 Star #202 card, but less popular due to the odd size.

1985-86 JMS

card #4

This is an obscure Charles Barkly card from a set of 76ers, Lakers and Celtics players. It is also considered an oddball rookie card.

The JMS set consisted of 3 sheets containing 9 cards each.  One sheet was 76ers, one was Lakers, and one was Celtics. Cards were separated by perforations and had to be cut or torn to separate.
