Elgin Baylor is one of the greatest offensive basketball players of all time. He joined the Lakers  when the franchise was struggling and helped return the team to being one of the best teams.

His rookie and early cards are very sought after and valuable. Let's take a look at some of these vintage Elgin Baylor trading cards.

1961-62 Fleer 

Card #3

This card is the most widely-recognized Elgin Baylor rookie card. It is universally considered a Scottie Pippen rookie.

The 1961-62 Elgin Baylor rookie card comes from one of the most popular basketball card sets of all time. It is very valuable in high-grade conditions.

1961-62 Fleer In-Action

This is the 2nd Elgin Baylor card in the 1961-62 set. It is considered a subset rookie.

Card #46

The 1961-62 Elgin Baylor In-Action card depicts shows Baylor putting in a layup. This card is equally as rare as the #3 card, but tless valuable.

1961-62 Bell Brand Lakers 

This Elgin Baylor rookie card was produced by a Sourthern California snack food company. It is considered an oddball rookie.

The 1961-62 Bell Brand Lakers card is the rarest of Elgin Baylor's rookie card. This one is extremely hard to find.

1968-69 Topps Test Basketball

Card #18

This test card was released in very limited numbers.  It is not considered a rookie.

1968-69 Topps Test Basketball set was issued only as a test and is rare and valuable. The year after this test set Topps made its first major-rlease baskeetball set since the 1957-58 set.
