Herschel Walker is considered one of the greatest college football players in history. After winning the Heisman Trophy he went on to be a star running back in both the USFL and NFL.

His rookie and early cards are very sought after and somewhat valuable. Let's take a look at some of these vintage Herschel Walker cards:

1984 Topps USFL

Card #74

The 1984 Topps USFL  Herschel Walker is the most valuable Herschel Walker rookie card.

This card was issued by Topps as part of a 132-card USFL box set. Some collectors consider it an extended rookie card instead of a true rookie.

1985 Topps USFL

Card #86

This is Herschel Walker's 2nd-year Topps USFL card.  It is not considered a rookie card.

This card was also issued as part of a USFL box set by Topps. It was never available in packs.  While it isn't a rookie, the USFL cards are valuable due to limited production runs.

The 1987 Topps Herschel Walker was his first major-release NFL card.  It is considered a rookie card.

This was included in the regular-issue football set. It was the first Walker card collectors could get from a pack.  It is usually considered a rookie but less valuable than the USFL cards.
